Why I Send My Son to St. John’s Day School

My son is in 2nd grade here at St. John’s.
There are many factors as to why I choose to send
him to St. John’s. My son started in daycare here
first and then went on to pre-school. When it came
time for Kindergarten there was no way that I
could switch him now, this was his second home.

When I would pick him up from pre-school we
would walk down the hall and 7th graders would
be high fiving him and saying “see ya later
son”. I was like wow! The students as a whole
are a family here. I was reassured of this when
he and I took our first camping trip to Camp
Concordia with the school families; it was so fun to
see the support of the other students when he
caught his “big fish”. They were all so proud of him!

The second reason I choose to send my son to St.
John’s is because of the opportunities for him to
grow as a student. If he needs extra help any
one of the teachers would stay after school and
help him. If he is finding the curriculum too
easy he has the option to move forward and get
more challenging work. Right now he is in
second grade and just moved up to a reading
level of 6.1; sixth grade 1st month. The teachers are
amazing and I entrust him with these teachers
who share my values. Teachers are among the
most influential role model in a student’s life and I
know he has had a couple of teachers here
that have impacted his life.

And of course the main reason for my decision to
send my son to St. John’s is because he can learn
about God and strengthen his faith everyday. I
was completely amazed when he was in 1st grade
and would come home and tell me bible stories
and knew the books of the bible and was
memorizing bible verses. His faith has grown
tremendously every year and I feel so lucky and so
blessed that he has this opportunity.
